Privacy Policy
Terms and Conditions

Date modified: April 25, 2021

Welcome,

If you don't already know it, Wazza is an app that allows you to both fully enjoy the present moment by knowing what your friends are doing and propose them easily to hangout together.

We understand that confidentiality is paramount when discussing with friends. That's why we've written this Privacy Policy to be transparent about what we're doing.

‍

Important information

  • When you use our services, you share information with Wazza.
  • To create an account, we only need a name and a phone number. Your name is used to identify you on Wazza and your phone number is used to authenticate your account.
  • If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy or if you want to access your data, rectify it, or ask us to delete it, you can send us an email atwazzahelp@gmail.com at any time.
  • We have implemented a data retention and deletion policy, which specifies the length of time we store your information. Generally, we keep the information we collect for as long as you are actively using the Wazza app. If you don't open the app for more than 12 months, we’ll delete your account.

Information we collect

We only collect information we can get when you use Wazza and the information you provide.

‍

The information you provide

When you use our services, we collect information that you choose to share with us.

‍

  • Registration. When registering on Wazza, you provide us with a name (which can be your name and / or your first name, or a pseudonym... it’s up to you) and a telephone number. During this process, we send you a text message containing a code, which allows us to authenticate your account (we believe that this method of verification is both simpler and more secure compared to the use of a password).
  • Profile picture. If you want, you can also add a photo to your profile to make it more engaging and fun for your friends. Of course, you can change your photo and your username at any time, and use whatever you want: just go to the app profile.
  • Address book. We also ask you to share your address book, in order to easily find your friends already on Wazza. Inviting them then becomes easier. As a precaution, only the telephone numbers of your contacts (and not their names) reach our servers, and that after encryption operations (or technically "salting" and "hashing"). It's another way of saying that we protect the security of the data in your address book by making it unreadable, so even internally we cannot access the content of that data.
  • Communications. All send data through our services, such as messages, images, emojis or other media that you send to your friends ARE NOT COLLECTED. We only collect the metadata associated with these exchanges such as the date and time when these messages were sent.
  • Support. The exchanges you may have had with our Care Team at wazzahelp@gmail.com!

Information we can get when you use Wazza

When you use our services, we collect information about how you use them in order to constantly improve your experience with our app. Here are some examples:

‍

  • Usage information. We collect information about your activity in Wazza. For example, when you create a Wazza or an event, the number of messages you send, the time at which you open your messages, etc. This allows us to understand what you like to use, and also what we need to improve!
  • Information on your phone. We collect various information specific to your device: battery level, BSSID of Wi-Fi terminals, as well as SSIDs but only temporarily and for statistical purposes, if headphones are connected, phone name, phone model, version of the operating system, your phones advertising identifier, app-only identifiers, unique device identifiers, phone language, wireless network names, IP addresses, and general mobile network information (including mobile phone number, cellphone). This allows us, for example, to correct bugs and ensure your safety.

How we use information

When you use our services, we collect information about how you use them in order to constantly improve your experience with our app. Here are some examples:

‍

  • Develop, operate, improve, update and secure our services.
  • Communicate with you, including by e-mail. For example, we can respond by email to inquiries to our Care team. Or contact you to understand what you prefer about Wazza.
  • Enhance the security of our products and services, for example, by detecting and preventing excessive friend requests. No one likes spam!
  • Evaluate the success of our marketing campaigns, for example to see if you installed Wazza after seeing an ad on a third party platform.
  • Send you notifications. For example getting invited to a Wazza or an event, when exchanging messages, etc. Of course, if you do not want to receive them, you just have to deactivate them in the system
    notification.
  • Verify your identity, and prevent fraud, or any other unauthorized or illegal activity.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and other usage policies.
  • Store information locally on your device, so you can open the app and view content as quickly as possible.

Fundamentals of data use

As a company based in Europe, we have the right to use your personal data, only when certain conditions are met. These conditions are called “legal bases”; at Wazza we mainly use one of the following four:

‍

  • Contract. One of the reasons we may make use of your data is simply the fact that without it we could not provide our services, as described in our Terms of Service. So, it is because event-based application that we need to access and store your events and Wazza’s. The app just wouldn’t work without this information.
  • Legitimate interest. Another reason is known as “legitimate interest”. For example, we need to use your data, to provide and improve our services, protect your information, answer a support question, or help
you find friends. An important point about the notion of legitimate interest is that it does not override your right to respect for private life. We rely on legitimate interest only when we believe that the way we use your data does not impact your privacy and makes sense to you, or if there is an obvious reason for doing so.
  • Consent. In some cases, we may ask for your consent before using your data. In these cases, we will make sure that you can withdraw, either directly in the application, or through the permissions related to the use of your phone. Even if we do not rely on your consent to use your data, we may ask your permission to access your data: for example for your address book, via your phone permissions.
  • Legal obligation. We may need to use your information in order to comply with the law, such as during a valid judicial requisition, or when we need to take steps to protect our users.

How we share information

We share the minimum legal information with third parties.

So for the full use of our services we have to share:

‍

  • Any other information that you have agreed to share. For example, when you allow us to access your address book, we may pass information about you to other users who also have your name and phone number in their address book on their phone.
  • It goes without saying, but if you send your friends a message, or emoji, we share that information with that friend, or group of friends.
  • With third parties for legal reasons. We may disclose information about you, if we believe its disclosure is necessary to:
  • Comply with a valid legal process or administrative request, or comply with laws, rules and regulations.
  • Investigate and remedy any violations of the Terms of Service, or even sanction them.
  • Protect our rights, property and safety or that of users or others.
  • Identify and correct fraud and security issues.
  • Other third parties. We may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable, and anonymized information.
  • With everyone , if you decide to share information publicly.
  • With third parties as part of a merger or acquisition. If Wazza is involved in a merger, sale of assets, shares or shares, financing, liquidation or bankruptcy, or the acquisition of all or part of the business of another company , we may transmit your information to this company, before or after the completion of the transaction. These are events happening in the changing world of technology!
  • 🚨 Also, don’t forget that your friends can take screenshots of the app and share information about their interactions with you on Wazza.

Content and integrations of third-party services

Our services may also contain links and redirects to third party sites, or include integrations using libraries linked to these services. You can thus transmit information to them, in particular personal data. You acknowledge and agree that Wazza cannot be held responsible for the way these third parties collect and use your information. We strongly encourage you to read the Privacy Policies of any third-party services you visit or use, especially those with which you interact through our services.

‍

How long we keep your information

We store your information for as long as needed, and as long as you use our services.

The following data is kept as long as you actively use the Wazza app:

‍

  • Your name, username and phone number
  • Your profile picture
  • Items from your address book (and in crypto-hashed form)
  • Information about your phone and how to use Wazza
  • Keep in mind that every discussion and exchange with your friends are deleted as soon as your Wazza or event is finished.

Of course, we respond to any request to delete an account. The next section "Control over your information" gives you more information on how to delete your account.

‍

Control over your information

It is important to us that you keep control over your information! Below you will find some of the ways we have put in place for this purpose.

‍

  • Access . We make every effort to let you access and modify most of the information we hold about you. This is mainly done in the profile part of the app. If you need to access, correct, or delete any other personal information we may have, you can contact us at wazzahelp@gmail.com . However, we may ask you to confirm your identity or provide us with additional information before allowing you to access or update your information.

Minors

Our services are not intended for minors under the age of 16, and we do not offer them to them. This is why, knowingly, we do not collect data from anyone under the age of 16.

‍

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we let you know one way or another. Sometimes we notify you by changing the date at the start of it (available on our website or in our app). Sometimes too, and especially when it comes to a significant change, we will present you with a notification, for example a statement at the bottom of the home pages of our website or a notice in the app.

‍

That's all for now!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send them to wazzahelp@gmail.com

And don't forget: we love you!

‍

Welcome,

we have written these Terms of Service so that you are aware of the rules that apply when you use Wazza. We really want this text to be clear, useful and understandable.

To use our Services, you must agree to these Terms. They are presented to you (i) when you open the app for the first time (ii) or when we make significant changes. Of course, if you don't accept them, then you can't take advantage of our Services.

‍

Who can use the Services?

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Services. In addition, depending on your country, you must be old enough to have the right to consent to the processing of your data.

By doing so, you represent that you are entering into a contract with Wazza, and you agree to abide by these Terms, as well as all local, national and international laws, rules and regulations.

The Services must not be used for commercial purposes. If you have an interest in such use, do not hesitate to write to us at wazzahelp@gmail.com.

‍

Your account

Creating an account is an essential step to be able to use the Services. The process is very simple: just follow the steps in the app! Here is the important information related to your account.

‍

Name and username

To create your account, you must choose a name. This is the name that will be displayed when you use the app. If you want to be easily recognized by your friends, we recommend that you use your first or last name.

‍

Phone number and verification

You must also provide a valid phone number. To make sure that no one other than you is using your number, we ask you to validate it during creation. To do this, we send a text message containing a verification code to the number you indicated. To finalize your registration, you will have to enter this code in Wazza. Remember: your Wazza account is linked to your phone number and it must remain valid for you to continue using the Services. If it becomes invalid, then you will no longer be able to access the Services. To keep your data if you change your phone number, contact us at wazzahelp@gmail.com.

‍

Address book and friends

Wazza is even more essential when your friends are using it! This is why we ask for your permission to access your address book. You can easily see which of your contacts already have the app and add them as friends and, of course, invite others to register on Wazza. In this case, you will have to send them a text. Remember that depending on your plan, your telephone company may charge you a fee for sending these messages. Choose close friends first, rather than sending invitations to your entire address book!

‍

Notifications

You can turn on notifications to be notified when your friends invite you to an invent or a wazza, send you messages, and more.

‍

Account security

Once you have created your Wazza account, you are responsible for the activity that takes place there. Since the creation of a Wazza account does not require a password, be sure to protect your phone with a strong password. Also don't lend (or give away) your phone, if you don't want someone else to use your account. If you suspect fraudulent use, or hacking of your account, please notify us immediately at wazzahelp@gmail.com. We will do our best to help you correct this situation.

‍

4. Your rights.

Wazza grants you a personal, worldwide, free, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable and non-sublicensable license. The sole purpose of this license is to allow you to access, use and benefit from the Services according to the terms defined in these Conditions.

For any software we provide, you can automatically download and install updates free of charge. You can change this download mode using your phone settings.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent any part of our Services. You also cannot reverse-engineer the app, or attempt to extract its source code, unless the law prohibits these restrictions... or you have our written permission to do so.

‍

Confidentiality

The confidentiality of your information is essential to us. To find out how we handle information when you use our Services, see our Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read it carefully 👀.

‍

Respect for the rights of others

Wazza respects the rights of all its users, and you must do the same. Therefore, you may not use the Services, or allow someone else to use them, in a way that:

  • violates or infringes the image rights, the right to respect for private life, copyright, trademark law or any other intellectual property right of another person.
  • harasses or intimidates;
  • defames;
  • solicits our users or allows us to send them unwanted messages.

You must also respect Wazza’s rights. These Terms do not give you any right to do the following (or allow someone else to do so):

‍

  • use the trademarks, logos, designs, photos, videos or other material appearing in our Services;
  • copy, archive, download, distribute, publish, broadcast, perform, display, make available, or use all or part of the Services (or content of the Services), except as permitted in these Terms;
  • use the Services, tools provided by the Services, or any content on the Services for commercial purposes, without our consent.

Security

We strive to ensure that our Services are safe for all users, but we cannot guarantee this. This is where you have to play a role. When you use the Services, you agree to:

  • not to use the Services for an illicit purpose or prohibited by these Conditions.
  • not to use a robot, "bot", "spider", "crawler" or any other means or automatic interface to access the Services, or extract information about other users.
  • not to use or develop third-party applications that will interact with the Services or with the content or information of other users, without our written consent.
  • not to use the Services in a way which could interfere with other users, disrupt them, adversely affect them, prevent them from fully using the Services or which could damage, disable, overload or alter the operation of the Services.
  • not to use or attempt to use another user's account without their permission.
  • not to post pornographic content, scenes of violence, threats, hate speech or incitement to violence.
  • not use viruses or other malicious code, or otherwise compromise the security of the Services
  • not to attempt to circumvent the content filtering techniques that we use or to access areas or functions of the Services to which you are prohibited from accessing.
  • not to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our Services or any system or network.
  • not to encourage or promote any activity that violates these Terms.

We also take care of your safety when you use the Services. So, please do not use them in a way that would endanger you, or break the law, such as on the road. For example, never use Driving Services.

‍

Third party services

If you use a feature or service operated by a third party and made available through our Services (including any Services we may offer in conjunction with that third party), each party's terms will govern their respective relationship with you. Wazza cannot be held responsible for conditions imposed by a third party, nor for actions taken under the conditions of this third party.

‍

Modification of the Services and termination

We are constantly improving our Services and constantly developing new functions. In other words, we can add or remove features, or products, and we can also suspend or stop a Service. We can make such a decision at any time; when we do, we will try to notify you in advance, but it may not be possible.

More than anything, we want you to remain a lifelong member of the Wazza community. However, you can terminate these Terms at any time and delete your account for any reason. To delete your account, contact wazzasevices@gmail.com . 😢

Wazza may also terminate these Terms if you do not comply with them, if you do not comply with the law, or for any reason of our own. If this happens, we will do our best to let you know in advance, but cannot guarantee it. Our right to terminate these Terms not only means that we may stop providing the Services to you, it may also impose restrictions on your use of the Services. For example, we may deactivate your account due to prolonged inactivity (12 months).

Regardless of which of us terminates these Terms, you and Wazza will continue to be subject to Sections 2, 6 and 9 to 17 thereof.
